New Braunfels, TX – Ginetta Factory Recognized driver Parker Chase will race at Sonoma Raceway this weekend, September 16-18, with Performance Motorsports Group in Pirelli World Challenge GTS Rounds 16 and 17.
Chase has been a strong contender for the podium at each Pirelli World Challenge weekend in this, his rookie season. The previous event at Utah Motorsports Campus saw Chase gather third and fourth place finishes, a strong points weekend the team needed after a few weekends of bad luck mid-season.
With the season coming to a close, the penultimate weekend of competition at Sonoma Raceway leaves no margin of error for Chase, who is currently third in the GTS Driver Championship standings. Chase is just 32 points ahead of fourth place and 69 points out of second place. Chase’s primary goal is to score as many points as possible this weekend on the 2.385 mile road course.
“I’m ready to get back in the car,” said Chase. “I was fortunate enough to get out to Sonoma and learn the course last week which was really important considering how important this weekend is for Performance Motorsports Group and myself. The track is fun and really flowy. It should suit our Ginetta well and I can’t wait for this weekend.”
Events begin on Friday, September 16 with two practice sessions at 8:45 AM CT and 12:30 PM CT. Saturday, September 17 brings qualifying 12:45 PM CT and Round 16 at 4:50 PM CT. The weekend comes to a close with one final race on Sunday, September 18 that goes green at 10:15 AM CT.
